Sweden’s Kungsleden Trek Video Details
Kungsleden (or The King's Trail) is a hiking trail in Lapland Sweden. It’s approximately 440 kms long. I’m only trekking the Fjallraven Classic route (110 kms) from Abisko in the north to Kebnekaise station in the east. While Femke plans to continue on for additional 15 days. Good luck girl.
The route is easy to follow but a map and compass is recommended in case of bad weather.
I slept in a tent but staffed STF cabins with dorm beds are located at 1-day intervals along most of the trail.
Our first objective was the Tjaktja pass at 1150m, the highest point on the trail.
It can rain and become cold very quickly in the arctic circle at any time of the year, so bring layers and rain gear.
I also recommend high top waterproof hiking boots because much of the ground is soggy.
Did I mention waterproof hiking boots?
The cabins provide all the comforts of home.
