The engine must be raised about half an inch and the oil pan removed. You need to loosen or remove the nuts holding the motor mounts in place, but you do not need to remove the fan, fan shroud or fan clutch as the manual suggests. If you have a broken motor mount (engine shakes a lot) this is a good time to replace that part too.

The oil pan will probably come off easier than you think - at least mine did. The fit between the engine and front suspension is tight. Removal is a bit of a puzzle, and be careful not to damage the new RTV bead that you created once you reinstall the pan. Also be sure not to use too much RTV as excess material could get inside your oil pan, break free and gum up the engine works! Hope this helps.
