Sitting balance exercises after stroke — designed for early recovery when sitting without help isn’t possible yet.
In this video, I work with a stroke survivor to demonstrate assisted sitting and balance exercises at the edge of the bed (EOB) to help begin rebuilding balance and core control after stroke.
These exercises are helpful when sitting feels unstable or unsafe and focus on:
Safely getting into a supported sitting position
Activating balance reactions with small, controlled movements
Practicing weight shifting toward the affected side
Encouraging early leg and trunk engagement
💡 This video is intended for stroke survivors who cannot sit independently yet and require caregiver assistance for safety.
👉 Not sure what stage of recovery you’re in or what to focus on next?
