Kid Icarus: Uprising: Part 21: Chapter 19: The Lightning Chariot

Описание: Following the victory against the Aurum, Pit was suddenly trapped in a cursed ring for over three years.

Thanks to the help of a little girl, a dog, and even Magnus, Pit was able to regain his body. However, through Viridi's own Power of Flight, he had discovered that Skyworld was now in shambles, and Palutena was now an enemy against humanity.

Pit tried to approach Palutena's Temple, but he was stopped by a massive, powerful force field.

Now... Pit needed to work with Viridi on a plan to get through that force field, and save Palutena from this evil change of heart...

AIR BATTLE - (00:27 - 05:15)

So then, it was time for Viridi to initiate the plan against Palutena's force field, though the Underworld Army was still planning to slow Pit down about it.

The only thing powerful enough to penetrate that force field was the Lightning Chariot, so Pit is being flown towards its location. He has to use it to smash right into the barrier to break it.

Pit wasn't too sure it would work, or at least not sure he'd survive if it DID work, but Viridi reminded him that this was all for Palutena's sake.

The first part of this plan? Viridi has Pit shot out of a massive cannon to quickly send him up to the stars. He survived THAT, at least.

The Lightning Chariot is used to travel to galaxies, and Pit & Viridi got to glance at it speeding towards its base. Pit & Viridi chased after it...

...and of course, Hades was also on its tail.

The Lightning Chariot stations itself at the top of a very, Very, VERY tall tower. Pit will have to start from its bottom and make his way up to the top.

LAND BATTLE - (05:15 - 30:55)

The owner of the Lightning Chariot is an undead soul of a warrior called the Chariot Master. He did not take well to Pit invading his home, less so him asking him for the Lightning Chariot indirectly. Pit had no other choice but to climb the tower to ask him in person for the ride.

Hades' Underworld Army have much more aggressively made their presence known in this tower, and the Chariot Master didn't approve of that, either. Viridi, however, thought that it was his own fault for lacking proper defenses.

This tower was a very long climb. Pit couldn't stop bugging Viridi on if he made it to the top yet. His feet were really feeling the burn of it as much as Viridi nerves were burning up from his annoyance.

This was such a climb, that it needed to be split into two segments, separated by a loading screen. Pit even noticed the loading screen, himself, but that freaked out Viridi that he would openly and loudly bring that up!

The general loop of this level is: Go inside a floor, beat the monsters there/deal with the floor's challenge, come out the other side and spiral upwards to the next floor while dealing with any enemies & challenges outdoors, too.

Some spirals will have jump pads. Others have grind rails. Others still may have jump pads with a deadly Orne waiting to obliterate you in one touch!

Some indoor floors may be electrified, or have you brave against strong winds, or put you through a mouse maze. One even has an Exo Tank track, another an Aether Ring, and another still a Cherubot.

Apparently, while Hades knew that Pit was turned into a ring, the Chaos Ring, he wasn't actually responsible for it. Somehow, he claimed that was of Pit’s own doing, but what does he really mean by that…?

The top will be right after one more spiral, which comes right after a hot spring room.

Pit finally meets the Chariot Master in person. He will allow the flightless angel to wield it...

...IF he can defeat him in a chariot battle. The Lightning Chariot is pulled by two unicorns, Phos & Lux. For this battle, Pit will use Phos while the Chariot Master will use Lux against him.

Like how Pit served Palutena, the Chariot Master had served a master of his own. He had lost him, and many other comrades to previous countless wars. He remained as a restless spirit, and even that was waning away now, but he was ready to embrace a true eternal rest...

Eventually, the Chariot Master was defeated in this battle. He was impressed with Pit's skills and granted him full access to the Lightning Chariot.

And thus, the old warrior, himself, was able to completely pass on...

And now... to use this new ride to save Palutena!
