Описание: A family excursion to Papakolea Beach, also known as the "Green Sand Beach," during our 2025 visit to the Big Island of Hawaii. The beach is located near the very southern tip of the island. Parking is near the end of South Point RD. From the parking area, visitors can hike around 2-2.5 miles each way to the beach and back, or pay around $20 PP to hitch an off-road ride from locals who shuttle folks in 4x4s. The beach has beautiful cliffs and an olive green hue, due to the olivine crystals present from the volcanic activity.
