A star-studded audience, including Britain's Princess Michael of Kent, gathered to watch the spectacle of milliner Philip Treacy's latest collection on Sunday.

Treacy, who designs hats for almost every international designer, revealed his dynamic collection on the second day of London Fashion Week.

Milliner Philip Treacy unveiled a spectacular show on Sunday, mixing fluid lines and curves topped with feathers, opposite stark angular space-age designs.

Wearing sculpted black dresses provided by the likes of Anthony Price, Deborah Milner, Jeremy Scott and Alexander McQueen, Treacy
revealed an extravagant collection using beading and netting, to
give both width and height.

Price is being touted in the fashion press as the new Versace.

Supermodels Yasmin Le Bon and Jodie Kidd could be seen enjoying
themselves as they modelled some of the more outrageous creations.

But the designer also took inspiration from the trilby in a collection of hats destined to influence high-street fashion later in the year.

He gives the classic shape added height, paints it luxurious colours and covers it in animal prints and black sequins.

Treacy predicts hair accessories will be big fashion news this year.

Backstage, he explained what had inspired the collection.

"The show is based on a fifties idea of Irving Penn couture photographs mixed with the Roswell incident which was a fifties phenomenon and it introduced the idea of outer space to the world, which they didn't think about before."

Designer Anthony Price reacted to rumours that he was about to be recruited by the Versace fashion house.
