জাতি গঠনের পথে অনেক সমস্যা দেখা যায়, যেমন - জাতিগত বিভেদ, ভাষাগত পার্থক্য, অর্থনৈতিক বৈষম্য, রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা, এবং সাংস্কৃতিক ভিন্নতা।

দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলের মধ্যে বা বিভিন্ন মানুষের মধ্যে যদি অর্থনৈতিক বৈষম্য থাকে, তাহলে জাতি গঠনে সমস্যা দেখা যায়, কারণ এতে সামাজিক অস্থিরতা বাড়ে।
রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা (Political Instability):
রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা, সংঘাত, এবং দুর্বল গণতন্ত্র জাতি গঠনে বাধা সৃষ্টি করে, কারণ এতে জনগণের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক বিশ্বাস কমে যায়।
সাংস্কৃতিক ভিন্নতা (Cultural Diversity):
বিভিন্ন সংস্কৃতির প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল না হলে, জাতি গঠনে সমস্যা দেখা যায়, কারণ এতে এক ধরনের জাতিগত পরিচয় তৈরি হতে পারে না।
বহিরাগত শক্তি (External Powers):
জাতি গঠনে বহিরাগত শক্তির প্রভাবও একটি বড় সমস্যা, কারণ এতে দেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ স্থিতিশীলতা নষ্ট হতে পারে।
