Описание: The Microbial Bioprocessing Facility (MBF) in the School of Biotechnology aims to enhance and support teaching and research within academia and industry. We educate and train students towards careers in food, agri-food, environmental and biopharmaceutical industries while also providing support to first class research in these fields. We offer bioprocessing training extensively through our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of BSc in Biotechnology, BSc in Genetics and Cell Biology, MSc in Bioprocess Engineering and research PhD studies. The facility contains the equipment to offer full bioprocess development from initial selection studies to bench-top bioprocessing optimisation, pilot-scale development, purification, and analysis. The MBF has a history of supporting industry by performing proof of concept investigations, process development, and scale-up studies, bringing research from an initial concept towards commercial production.
