Step behind the scenes at JazzOpen Stuttgart 2025 — a 12-day, multi-venue festival that took over the city from July 2 to 13, attracting more than 60,000 visitors and world-renowned artists across genres.
In this video, the focus is on the lighting setup and the people behind it:
Toto Bröcking, LD Relationship Manager at GLP Germany, introduces the fixtures used at the festival: the JDC2 IP, WILD BAR 16, X5 IP Maxx, and the brand-new MATRIX EYE, which was field-tested here.
Jerry Appelt, Lighting Designer of the festival, shares his perspective on how GLP fixtures — especially the X5 IP Maxx and the MATRIX EYE — performed under real production conditions and contributed to the festival’s visual identity.
Fabian Lahme, Operator, talks about the close collaboration with the GLP team during the fine-tuning of the MATRIX EYE firmware, as well as the JDC2 IP.
Set against the backdrop of Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz, this video offers a detailed look at how high-end lighting technology, experienced design, and hands-on collaboration come together to define the visual signature of JazzOpen 2025.
