Likes
Livability. Before coming here this looked really good 'on paper'. In real life, it lived up and exceeded expectations.
Affordable and delicious food options
Friendly polite locals.
Greate public transit Metro and train and you bike programs
Safety. 0 issues walking around any time of night or theft issues.
Access to nature was amazing and you can go hiking just by taking the metro. Not common in many parts of the world a car is required.
The greenery, this is personal preference, but I just love greenery.

Dislikes
A bit more overcast than I was expecting, at least in Taipei.
Largely cash based, not my favorite I was too used to cashless Alipay
Building stock was a bit older, fine for me, but the cost / value isn't as strong as other destinations if you value really modern apartments.

I recommend going off Airbnb via private owner. There are Facebook groups
