Описание: o, I bought this set of Cherry Nixies second-hand, they came lubed on the stem and rails. I already knew they were going to sound quite muted, and yeah, when I tested them, they really did. The amount of lube was just too much.

Of course, this all comes down to personal preference, but personally, I don’t like my Cherry switches lubed. Cherry switches already have a mid-pitch and mid-loud sound by nature, and once you add lube, the pitch drops and the sound gets even quieter. I prefer my Cherry switches dry, maybe filmed if needed.

Anyway, since these were over-lubed, I ended up cleaning each switch manually with cotton buds and tissue, it took forever and was super tiring. After cleaning, the pitch went up a bit, but there was still some leftover lube, so I went back and cleaned every single switch again, one by one, all 60 of them. And here’s the result.

As for the springs, they still have that typical Cherry ping. The housing wobble is also quite noticeable, so I’d say films are definitely recommended, you can actually feel the top housing moving when pressing the switch.
