APOLOGETICS
The word "apologetics" comes from the Greek word "apologia," pronounced "ap-ol-og-ee’-ah." It means, "a verbal defense."
It is used eight times in the New Testament: Acts 22:1; 25:16; 1 Corinthians 9:3; 2 Corinthians 10:5-6; Philippians 1:7; 2 Timothy 4:16, and 1 Peter 3:15.
But it is the last verse that is most commonly associated with Christian apologetics.
1 Peter 3:15
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”
"Apologetics is the work of convincing people to change their views."
