Thanks to my amazing teacher @bluesubmission for bringing this vision to life with me.
“No Mud No Lotus” is a concept that was taught by one of my heros, the great zen teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh, or “Thay” to his students. It’s about the “interbeing” of suffering and happiness. What better way to express this physically than the art of #shibari.
Blue and I tied this together, and she guided with kindness and humor the whole way. It was my partner and I’s first suspension, and it was such a gift to be able to capture it in this way on film.
