The Great Mosque of Xi'an is located in the Muslim community, just 300 meters from the Bell Tower.
It was first built in 742 during the Tang Dynasty (618–907). At that time, many Arab merchants traveled to China along the Silk Road and introduced Islam to the region.
Intermarriage between these merchants and the Chinese people led to an increasing number of Chinese adopting the Islamic faith
