Vorrei portarti con me, poi ti riporterei indietro, come è giusto che sia.
Ma per un po’ ti porterei con me.Ti racconterei le cose che non avrò il tempo di finire di dirti.
Solo per quello, per trovare il modo che duri di più.
Ti farei guardare il mare freddo, così apprezzeresti il tuo.
Ti farei una foto e la lascerei nel cassetto per le volte che avrò voglia di guardarti
con i capelli scompigliati e il sorriso accennato.
Mangeremo e dormiremo poco perché non ci sarebbe il tempo;
tutto quello che vorresti cercherei di dartelo.
Ti farei esprimere un desiderio e lo esaudirei.
Solo uno, perché tre non sarei capace.
Ti farei almeno un paio di domande scomode, perché così ti fideresti di me.
Vorrei che ti fossi innamorata di me, per chiedermi di restare.
Ma forse tu impieghi tanto per innamorarti e allora è per questo che vorrei portarti con me:
per farti innamorare. Verresti?
Ho provato, che dire, a farmi scegliere. Ho sperato. Dovevo.
Era una possibilità, capisci? Come fare a metterla via, a dimenticarla.
Forse aspettando, forse non era il momento.
Forse io e te abbiamo un altro tempo. Sono sicuro che con qualche giorno in più,
ora in più, ti avrei portato via con me.
È l’idea che almeno una volta succeda, no? Hai presente? Quell’idea invasiva
e sotterranea che si inabissa o si palesa e lo fa una volta sola per tutte e se l’avverti
non puoi far finta di niente se hai un po’ di senno.
Come un sibilo fluttuante e sinuoso.
A me è successo questo: non sono riuscito a fare finta di niente,
non volevo, in fondo. Non potevo far altro che cercare di portarti con me,
dal profondo, per egoismo quasi, per farmi stare bene.
Anche se sapevo di non potere. Anche se era rischioso.
Anche se tu non vuoi, anche se, infine, la tua felicità non dipende da me.
E non posso fare a meno di chiedertelo di nuovo. Solo per essere sicuro.

Before you say "Hello"


I would like to take you with me, then I will bring you back, as it should be.
But for a while I would take you with me. I would tell you the things that I will not have time to finish telling you.
Just for that, to find the way that lasts longer.
I would make you look at the cold sea, so you would appreciate yours.
I would take a picture and leave it in the drawer for the times I want to look at you
with disheveled hair and a smile.
We will eat and sleep a little because there is no time;
all you would try to give it to you.
I would let you make a wish and I would grant it.
Only one, because three I would not be able.
I'd give you at least a couple of awkward questions, because you would trust me.
I wish you'd fall in love with me, to ask me to stay.
But maybe you use so much to fall in love and then that's why I would like to take you with me:
to make you fall in love. Would you come?
I tried, what to say, to make me choose. I hoped. I had to.
It was a possibility, do you understand? How to put it away, to forget it.
Perhaps waiting, maybe it was not the moment.
Maybe you and I have another time. I'm sure with a few more days,
now more, I would have taken you away with me.
It's the idea that at least once happens, right? You know? That invasive idea
and underground that sinks or reveals itself and does so only once for all and if you feel it
you can not pretend nothing if you have a little 'sense.
Like a fluctuating and sinuous hiss.
This happened to me: I could not ignore it,
I did not want to, after all. I could not help but try to take you with me,
from the depths, almost selfishness, to make me feel good.
Even though I knew I could not. Even if it was risky.
Even if you do not want to, even if, finally, your happiness does not depend on me.
And I can not help asking you again. Just to be sure.
