This video shows how to test a leak detection pump (LDP) on a 2003 Ram 1500 and confirm if it is functioning properly and sealing during EVAP emission system tests. The trouble code p0456 is a small leak in the EVAP system. Other common causes of p0456 and sometimes p0440 are 1. A faulty gas cap, 2. Fuel vapor leak detection pump hose, 3. Vapor canister purge valve solenoid or the Charcoal fuel vapor canister. The leak detection pump (LDP) test is being performed on a 2003 Ram 1500 5.7L.
