No. 7 in a sporadic series.
Some footage of the guideboat frame being skinned.
The owner wanted to use sustainable, plastic-free materials. So this boat’s being skinned with flax cloth and coated with a linseed-oil-based resin. All materials from the same plant, which is pretty cool.|

For this boat, I'm following the lines for 'Virginia', from the book 'The Adirondack guideboat' by Kenneth and Helen Durant. I'm shortening it to 14 feet and deepening amidships to 14 inches. I've also increased the bottom board width to 9 and 3/4 inches. This is all within the historic range and should give a little more room for gear.
