Bird Feeder Deep Cleaning

Описание: Having had a House Finch with House Finch Conjunctivitis visit my feeders, I went into action performing a deep clean of the feeders that the bird had been on. I have been meaning to make this video for a long time, as a deep bleach cleaning is part of my routine on a periodic basis. However, I never remember to set up my cams to record it.

The deep clean (using bleach or a vinegar solution) is a very important step in ensuring that the birds eating from your feeder remain healthy and disease free. As such, a deep clean (I use the bleach method) should be done on a periodic basis. However, it is also possible that from time to time, a diseased bird will visit your feeder. If that happens, then the feeders the bird fed from should be removed from your feeders and deep cleaned.

Always wear gloves when working at feeders to prevent any cross contamination of diseases. Also, when performing the deep clean, ensure that you wear protective eye wear and rubber gloves to keep your hands and arms safe as well. Wear clothing that you don't mind getting bleach on as the actual washing process, which uses brushes can splatter or spray the cleaning product on you.
