Trip to the Buffalo Rally 2025

Описание: Twelve friends wanted to go to the very famous Buffalo Rally in Hartenbos (South Africa). So why not make a journey of it. Packing was tricky because it was Autumn and at this stage you get all seasons in one day. But we decided that it would be mostly cold and rainy. And that it was. On day one we rode to Nieu-Bethesda, a lovely small town near Graaff-Reinette. We spend the day there just enjoying each others stories that we had missed out on. Day 2, we headed out to Hartenbos. Me and my husband had some trouble with our key fobs, both saying it is out of battery. When we entered George we made our way to BMW George and they helped us out with new batteries and set new settings to our motorcycles. The rest of the group went ahead. We joined them later at the Riviera Hotel and then walked from there to the Rally site. There were great stalls with rings, necklaces, t-shirts and nitty gritties. A great band was playing and had the crowd going. But as it colder we decided to turn in.
Day 3, we joined the Mass Ride in Mosselbay and rode along with 1700 motorcycles through the town. That was epic. We then had lunch and just had a good old fun time until we headed back to the Rally site to find out who had won big prize. None of us did though. Oh well.
Day 4, we made our way to Jeffrey Bay (surfing meca) through the cold and rain. It was very windy and really cold there. But the relaxed vibes of the town is always welcome.
Day 5 we just did some shopping in the Factory shops and had a really jolly time in Jolly Dolphin. We saw dolphins swimming the surfers and I wondered what that must feel like. That must be some sort of heavenly feeling.
Day 6 , we headed back to Bloemfontein in one go. It was a cold day, and as we neared Bloemfontein we got rain, but it was manageable and could still keep regular good speed. We had lost an hour of time due to the road works but still made it here in daylight.
