Описание: Quiet Alpha is a song I wrote in absolute stillness, and uncertainty.

In March 2020, during the first weeks of the global lockdown, I found myself quarantined in Colombia. Like many musicians, I suddenly had nothing but time: time to practice, time to think, and time to sit with silence. After what felt like endless hours with the guitar, my mind started drifting elsewhere.

That’s when I fell into a loop of watching documentaries about wolves somehow.

Wolves have always fascinated me, but during that period, I began to see them differently. What struck me most was the structure of the pack. Nothing is casual. Nothing is accidental. Every movement has intent, every role has purpose. And above all, leadership in a wolf pack isn’t defined by size, aggression, or noise.

The alpha, the leader, is rarely the biggest or the loudest.
Authority comes from qualities that are harder to define: presence, consistency, intelligence, restraint.
A kind of quiet strength.

That idea stayed with me.

The melody for Quiet Alpha came quickly, almost effortlessly, as if it had already been waiting somewhere. I didn’t overthink it. I followed the feeling. The tune became a reflection of those intangible leadership qualities — calm, grounded, purposeful — rather than dominance or display.

This live performance was recorded on January 10 at Chorus Lausanne, one of Europe’s most respected jazz venues. The concert marked the beginning of an intense and meaningful week for us: a sold-out show, followed immediately by three demanding days in the studio to record my new album, Sicilian Blood.

In that sense, this performance sits right at the crossroads between the road and the studio — between energy and focus, spontaneity and intention.

Quiet Alpha continues to evolve every time we play it live. And perhaps that’s fitting: real leadership, like music, isn’t about control — it’s about listening.
