A Medical Professional | Ex-Medical Officer (Govt. of Jharkhand)
Dr. Birendra Kumar is a dedicated medical professional and former medical officer under the Government of Jharkhand. He currently practices as a general physician and skin specialist in Jhumri Telaiya, Koderma, where he has been settled for the last 25 years.
He was born in Village Kakila, District Bhojpur (Bihar). He completed his schooling at H.P.D. Jain School, Ara, and graduated in medicine from PMCH Patna.
Before pursuing a career in medicine, he was an active stage director and actor in his village. He has beautifully utilized his stage experience to emerge as a screen artist in recent years.
Social Initiatives & Cultural Contributions
In addition to his medical practice and government service, he is deeply committed to the betterment of society. He founded the NGO Vrindavan Vikas & Kala Sanskriti Samiti, Koderma, under whose banner he regularly organizes:
• Free medical camps
• Cultural programs
• Tourism development activities in and around Koderma
One of his major contributions is the musical documentary film titled "Jhumri Telaiya: A Tourist Centre", which aims to promote local tourism. The voice for the song has been given by renowned Bollywood singer Udit Narayan.
Periodically, he also arranges cultural programs focused on tourism promotion. These events regularly feature performances by famous Bhojpuri folk singer Nitu Kumari Nutan.

Film and Cultural Promotion
Dr. Birendra Kumar has played a key role in the shooting and release of several Bhojpuri films, produced by his close associates in Koderma. He is passionate about authentic Indian culture and is especially dedicated to preserving and promoting the Bhojpuri language and traditions.
Currently, he is working on Bhojpuri films aimed at showcasing the true essence and fragrance of Bhojpuri culture.
He has also been serving as a member of the District Tourism Enforcement Committee, Koderma, for the past five years.
