Nestled within the arid deserts and rugged mountains of the American West, Nevada is a state often associated with its vast landscapes, mining towns, and the promise of opportunity. Yet its history is far richer than the rise of silver and the challenges of its harsh environment, it is also a story of ancient Native cultures, westward expansion, and the transformation into the famed “Silver State.” To truly understand the formation of this state, we must begin at its earliest days, when the land of Nevada was home to Native American tribes living among its mountains and deserts.
