Annika celebrates her first Diwali with family - our North Indian fam in Kerala

Описание: We celebrated Annika's first traditional Diwali at our Kerala home last October. The previous year, we spent her first actual Diwali on a train travelling home for a work trip, so this Diwali was that much more special to us. Diwali in Kerala might be very different from my Haryanvi family's home region in North India, but it's still important to us to try to celebrate it and find the best traditions we can easily follow at home too – the most essential tradition being the togetherness of family. The holiday season wouldn't have been as festive and happy for us, had Annika's grandparents, Dadi & Dadu, not agreed to travel all the way to the hot South India to spend it with us and teach me more about the traditions too!
