Описание: Preparation of the operative field.
Equipment: forceps, antiseptic solution (iodine-containing or alcohol-containing) in the glass, sterile small towels, sterile sheets.

There are four rules of scrubbing of the patient`s skin.
1. Skin is scrubbed from the center to periphery.
2. We perform scrubbing of wide area, much wider than the side of the incision area.
3. The most dirty sites are scrubbed in the last turn.
4. Multiple scrubbing is carried out (2 scrubbings of the wide area before covering the small field, 1 scrubbing of small field before the incision, 1 – before suturing, 1 – after suturing).

Algorithm of the manipulation:
1. Clamp folded napkin with the long forceps (make a tupfer).
2. Immerse the tupfer inside the glass with antiseptic solution.
3. Scrub the wide operative field (from xiphoid to pubic region for surgeries on the abdominal organs) 2 times with different tupfers.
4. Drape the small operative field with four sterile sheets.
5. Fix sheets with forceps.
6. Scrub the small operative field one time.

After the surgery scrub wound edges before suturing and stitches after suturing.
