Visiting Royal Delft | Netherlands Series

Описание: Royal Delft is a small city situated between the bigger cities of The Hague and Rotterdam. There are a few things that this wonderful city is known for like the great artist Vermeer, and of course delftware.

Delftware is a type of pottery that includes plates, vases, figurines, tiles, which resembles Chinese porcelain. Brought back from China, the Dutch admired the white and blue colors. Only the rich and wealthy were able to get a hold of the beautiful porcelain. It got so popular that the Dutch decided to imitate it. Now the Royal Delft is the last remaining place that produces this delftware.

It was such a great experience and one that we highly recommend anyone and everyone to visit when they can. You’ll learn about its history, the production process, and get to see firsthand, the painter in action, among other great things.
