Just Majority is composed of six talented students at the Manhattan School of Music. After meeting there in the Fall of 2022, the group began playing together frequently, and quickly formed a strong musical and interpersonal bond. The group’s unique instrumentation and creative individual voices present a fresh new sound that builds upon the foundations of the jazz tradition. Just Majority has performed in various settings in New York City, and will embark on a tour of the Southern United States in the summer of 2023. Members of the band are alumni of programs such as the Vail Jazz Workshop, NYO Jazz, Monterey Jazz Festival’s Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, and the Herbie Hancock Institute National Peer to Peer Tour, and have also won awards from many prestigious organizations including YoungArts, Downbeat Student Music Awards, and Essentially Ellington.

Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve.
