Clay Country: The Accidental Tour de Lost 🚴‍♂️💨

Описание: What started as a short bike ride turned into a full-on tour of the iconic Clay Country and the scenic countryside around it. The route took me on a 22 km loop (13.7 miles), weaving through old china clay pits, lush green valleys, and quiet rural lanes.

The journey started innocently enough. Sun was out, spirits were high. Then I hit the New NEW road. Beautiful views, open skies—and wind that could sandblast your teeth. At one point I was pedalling downhill and still slowing down. I'm not saying it was strong, but I saw a seagull give up and walk.

The highlight? Definitely the new new road cutting through the heart of the clay landscape—the wind was pretty fierce up there, but the panoramic views more than made up for it. The exposed terrain gave a dramatic contrast to the green fields surrounding it.

As for navigation… well, let’s just say I got intimately familiar with the phrase “I swear I’ve seen that bush before.” I may have discovered three new villages, a ghost bridleway, and possibly time-travelled back to the 1800s somewhere near Greensplat. Still not sure.

Getting lost a few times? I’d call it an unplanned exploration!

In the end, 22 km of chaos, wind, and unintentional tourism. Would 100% do it again. Might even bring snacks next time. And a map. Or a drone. Or just accept that getting lost is now part of my training plan.
