Curiously, the original metadata for this track names the album as "Me and My Big Mouth." Mitch's publicly stated name for his solo album was "Clawing My Way to the Middle," so this other album name is totally new to me.

The track was the first of Mitch's solo releases and my first experience with it was finding it on his MySpace page. From there--and you have to remember this was October 2005 and freeware audio tech was still pretty rough--I had done a very low-quality audio rip through Audacity. (It was followed shortly by his re-done, softer version of My World in December 2005 that he re-titled as "Make Me High.")

Mitch posted on MySpace: "I thought it was about time I let everyone know what I am really doing. :)

Even though my CD isn't quite finished yet, I have been asked to put this song on the soundtrack for the upcoming film "Superman", due out summer 2006. For those of you that have been patient with me...I am posting this for you. You have stuck with me all this time, so now here is a sample of what my solo CD, "Clawing My Way To The Middle" will sound like. For everyone else that is discovering me for the first time.....well, enjoy."

Mitch had been excited that the track was being considered for the 2006 soundtrack to the movie Superman Returns, but his song was not placed on the album. In a podcast interview in the 2020s, Mitch revealed that this song and all of the other demo tracks intended for his album, Clawing My Way to the Middle, were given over to his label to satisfy his contract requirements so that he could leave the label and pursue his songwriting career. Sessions for CLAWING MY WAY TO THE MIDDLE commenced in Los Angeles and Baltimore during the spring of 2005. Mitch worked with Producer Ben Moody (Evanescence).

20 years later, at the time of this posting, Clawing My Way to the Middle remains unheard. The demo version of "Car Crash" has never surfaced, but a live acoustic version was captured that you can listen to on this channel. There was also a rumored, redone version of "Everything" from Here We Go Again.
