Performing CPR with a Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM)

Save a life with these steps:

Make sure you have the right size mask for the Infant Victim.

Position yourself at the victim's head.

Ensure an airtight seal by placing the mask over the nose and mouth. Using the bridge of the nose as a guide. For proper mask placement.

Using the E. C. Clamp Technique with one hand to create a seal tilt the head back and maintain an open airway. Be careful not to hyperextended the infant’s head, as this can cause the airway to become blocked.

With the other hand Squeeze the bag to deliver a breath over one second each, watching for chest rise. Seeing the chest rise and fall ensures effective ventilation.

Repeat Two breaths after 30 chest compression.
