The 10th Matkir General Conference 2026 is being held at Bamin–Bilat from January 16 to 18, bringing together members of the Matkir community to deliberate on unity, social harmony, and collective growth. The three-day conference marks an important platform for interaction, discussion, and strengthening community bonds.
Speaking on the occasion, Organising Chairman Shri Tarung Pango highlighted the significance of the general conference in uniting various family clans and reinforcing the social structure of the Matkir society. He stated that such gatherings play a crucial role in encouraging dialogue, understanding, and cooperation among community members.

The conference is being organised under the theme “Interaction & Strengthening the Stand of Society Oneness,” which reflects the collective commitment to foster unity, shared responsibility, and progressive social values through mutual interaction and participation.

Several prominent social leaders and representatives from allied welfare organisations attended the event, including Shri Moki Loyi, President of ALLLWS; Shri Doli Lollen (Jr.), Secretary; Shri Ganpang Mégu, President of Mégu Welfare Society; and Shri Ojing Mégu, Secretary of the society. Their presence added value to the discussions and exchange of ideas during the conference.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Tapang Taloh, President of the Matkir Welfare Society, urged all Matkir families to remain united and work collectively for the overall development of the community. He emphasised that unity, cooperation, and a shared vision are essential for preserving cultural identity and ensuring sustainable social progress.

As part of the programme, an award ceremony was organised to felicitate meritorious students and active social workers for their achievements and contributions. The conference continues to inspire a renewed sense of solidarity, responsibility, and commitment towards building a stronger and more cohesive Matkir society.
