This strat makes this fight super consistent. The only thing that may not work is after the 2nd Ars he may do spinning counter instead of dash at you. If that happens though, you can work with it just fine by single hit into full combo.
If you don't know, Riku gets looped when he powers up. Every 4th hit you do on him will make him counter you immediately with the spin counter. If that happens, you have a small time frame to stagger him with an attack (not too soon and not too late) and then restart a full combo to keep it going. If you do it right, he'll never use Dark Aura.
