Gunvein - Arcade Expert Purist 1CC

Cool shmup. Out of all modern shmups that I got to play it's one of the few who was made by someone that REALLY had an idea and would execute it no matter what.
Then it adds a medal that goes against the whole point of the game which is honestly very funny when you think about it.

Let me briefly explain.

The game is balanced around speedkilling, bombs and hypers. You speedkill, you get more score and bomb fragments that craft into bombs. You use bombs to wipe the screen and get the full speedkill bonus + shiny score stars, which means more bombs. And lives because extends are tied to score too.
So bombing is good. Hypers less so but they help you live.

A "purist" clear involves beating a run without continues and using no more than 5 bombs or hypers combined. So no score, less i-frames, less lives, more bullet exposure because enemies live more. You get the gist.

Knowing the dev I doubt they meant to have this be done on Expert, maybe it was only for that Steam achievement which can be done on any difficulty. But since I can, I do it on expert.
It turns the game into a less frenetic, more tactical game. And also forces you to learn and dodge midbosses and bosses.

You want to use Lizzy (green ship) for this because she's fast and she has the strongest regular/power shot and the weakest bomb.

All 5 available Bombs are all saved for specific patterns across the game which are STUPID.

And I'd have more tips but I beat the game a bit too long ago and I'm starting to forget. Just spam the charged attack and don't let the screen fill up, even some stage enemies can be nasty if let alone longer than a picosecond. Most enemies die with an uncharged attack, and the first beep already deals full damage, the second is just to have it launch away from your ship.
Ideally you have full lives for final boss because it sucks.
