Lately, I've been working on a toolset for #unrealengine5 that will include first-person puzzle-adventure mechanics. I'm trying to make the toolset as comprehensive as possible, so it is taking a while.
I decided to take a break from the scripting and wanted to do some work related to art, animation, and design, so I'm creating a short interactive experience.
I wanted to make sure that creating this would allow me to better learn some of the new advanced tools that UE has brought to the table such as #nanite, #lumen, #metahumans, and #proceduralgeneration.
I will be incorparating my own toolset to handle interactions, character movement, and various other mechanics such as transitions to and from cutscenes.
I will also include things that I haven't tried before such as first-person hand animations, interactive water systems, cloth simulations, and real-time lighting/weather (cloud) manipulation along with large-scale particle systems.
Here is a little tease of the environment I'm creating. This was created with #quixel megascans through the usage of #PCG. I tried to create a realistic time-lapse segment in-engine that can trigger during gameplay.
If I don't encounter any major technical problems, I intend to complete this project before the end of the year and upload it on my itch.io page. You'll be able to download it for free.
