Описание: What Billie Eilish is for pop music, that's what Girl In Red is for indie. This year, the young singer has proven herself to be a progressive teen icon.
From her bedroom in Norway, Marie Ulven creates disarming songs, mostly concering young love. Her specialty? The seeminly happy song with the macabre message. Tracks like 'summer depression' and 'we fell in love in october' have reached thousands of fans on Tumblr and Soundcloud, and now Ulven is introducing herself to a much wider audience. Not that she succeeded right away.
Her big hit 'I wanna be your girlfriend', in which Ulven talks about longing for the love of a girl named Hannah, didn't initially spark any interest and Ulven even tried her hand at singing in Norwegian before she successfully switched to English.
On September 6th, she released Beginnings, a bundle of her two EP's.
After her show at Lowlands Festival, we asked her about the music that has influenced her: 'I discovered David Bowie and The Smiths through The Perks of Being a Wallflower.'
