How To Replace Coolant: 2017-2025 Jeep Compass & 2015-2021 Renegade

Описание: In todays video, I'll show you how to replace the coolant on a 2020 Jeep Compass Latitude with a 2.4L Tigershark 4 cylinder engine. This process should be the same for the 2017-2025 Jeep Compass, as well as the 2015-2021 Jeep Renegade.
Although the owners manual states the coolant only needs to be replaced every 10 years or 150,000 miles, I disagree with this notion of a "Lifetime" fluid and would instead recommend replacing the coolant every 5 years or 60,000 miles whichever comes first. It's the least you can do to ensure your car stays in good working condition and only cost $50 every 5 years which isn't a lot of money. This is what I do with my Acura TL-S and it has 354,000 miles on the original engine, transmission, and radiator.
Since we can only drain 3-3/4 quarts of coolant out at a time, we will need to do 2 drain-and-fills to effectively replace most of the 6.8 quarts in the system, thus requiring 2 gallons of coolant.
These Jeeps have also replaced the petcock drain valve with a terribly unreliable quick connect coupling that's guaranteed to get stuck. So instead, we will be disconnecting the rubber radiator hose connected to the quick connect coupling. To attach the hose back onto the coupling, we'll need a new 1-3/4" stainless steel hose clamp. The larger 2-3/4" clamp will work too but isn't necessary.
Then it's a simple matter of filling the system up with coolant, driving the car, letting it cool all the way down, and filling the reservoir up to the max fill line when needed.
