The ICC has officially denied Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) request to relocate its T20 World Cup 2026 group games out of India, citing “security concerns.” In a virtual meeting Tuesday, the world body warned: “Bangladesh must play in India — failure to appear will result in forfeiture of points, and they’ll miss out on Super 8 qualification.” ESPNcricinfo reports this as a firm “play-or-lose” directive. BCB, however, claims no such “ultimatum” was delivered — only assurance of security coordination. Bangladesh’s three Kolkata matches (Feb 7, 9, 14) and one in Mumbai (Feb 17) remain on schedule. ICC to issue final verdict by Jan 10.
