I forgot about this song for three years... damn.

I got a comment recently from someone who suggested Surface by Dimrain for a cover, and I was about to ignore it until I realised they replied to their own comment and suggested Betrayal of Fate or Fear. Which sent me down a rabbit hole of remembering that I had covered Fate already and that I just... never released it for one reason or another. So, I chose to revisit it and do it properly. Plus, it gave me a chance to mess with some new software I've gotten!

For starters, I just picked up Archetype Nolly from Neural DSP, just because I've heard a lot of great things about and from it. I had a little bit of extra time while creating my new template, and figured I'd pick it up! And hell, it's a really nice sounding piece of kit (I guess you can expect that from the Nolls). There's a lead patch I want to use for some things in the future, but we'll see how that comes about.

Second, I also picked up Cubase 13, which is great! I love Cubase 13, a lot and hopefully the new shit will help with my productions in the future! The general design is really nice and sleek too! And finally, I managed to get a fucking sick drum sound with an adjusted routing preset. I got to mess with the snare top and bottom, and doing that lead to a really nice sounding snare! Which is something I've always struggled with!

Now, if you're a long time viewer and are disappointed that I took one person's request over yours, let me just address that here. I never guarantee doing any cover if you request it of me; requests are more suggestions and whether or not I do them will depend on if I have any interest in the song, if I think I can physically play it, and if I'd rather do the other songs I have for the year first. I didn't even guarantee that other commenter that I would do this song, they reminded me of it and I decided, "sure, let's do it!" Every suggestion I get goes into a might get to it some day pile; I prioritise stuff I want to do for this channel. So, don't get upset that I did someone else's and not yours.
