About Michael Mayo
Whether performing solo, with his band, or as a guest artist, LA native Michael Mayo is acclaimed worldwide for his otherworldly vocalese. A graduate of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance, he studied under legends like Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, becoming only the third vocalist ever accepted into the program. Mayo has performed internationally at top jazz clubs and festivals, and collaborated with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jacob Collier, Lenny Kravitz, Josh Groban, and The War and Treaty. In 2022, he was named International Artist of the Year at the Deutscher Jazzpreis.
