DOUBLE TARKA DAAL – The Comfort Food You Didn’t Know You Needed!
Smoky, spicy, and full of flavor — this Moong Masoor ki Daal with not one, but TWO tarkas is a total game changer.
Full recipe below – save it for your next daal craving!
Ingredients:
• ½ cup moong daal
• ½ cup masoor daal
• 1 tsp red chilli powder
• ½ tsp turmeric
• 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
• 1 large onion (chopped)
• 2 medium tomatoes (pureed)
• Salt to taste
• 2–3 cups water
Method:
• Add all the ingredients to a pot with water and cook until daal is soft and water has reduced.
Tarka #1:
Heat oil, add chopped garlic, cumin seeds, and 2–3 dry red chillies (green optional). Cook till garlic turns golden and pour over the daal.
Tarka #2:
Heat oil again, fry sliced onions till golden brown, and pour that over too.
Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with white rice or roti — trust me, it hits every time!
