Running and running, the days go by and the road seems to stretch on forever. Wherever does it all lead...?
"STILLNESS" refers to embracing the peace and calm that comes with doing, and finally becoming, nothing—challenging society's expectations of constant productivity by personifying Life and Death through the concept of active motion versus lack thereof respectively.

INSIGHT
Man, what a ride this film was, even though it only took a few days to make. After seriously racking my brain and struggling to brainstorm story ideas for days, I decided, you know what, let's just go out and shoot something. Whatever ends up happening, we can always somehow make art out of it (a fancy way of saying "we'll fix it in post").

As I was editing the footage together, I started jotting down ideas for what the film could be about. And somewhere along that process, the idea suddenly occurred to me to photograph my notes, invert them, and superimpose them onto the film image. In an age where most things are created digitally now, I love the tangibility and depth of authenticity that physical raw ink and paper adds here.

So I wrote and wrote until my pen completely died. The word "nothing" at 0:25 in the film had to be practically engraved into the paper because there was no ink left. But funnily enough, that sums up the concept of "STILLNESS" and the unpredictable brevity of life in a pretty straightforward way. Of course it was the only pen I own too.
