My new favourite place in Croatia, and certainly a candidate for the best place to live 12 months a year here. A town of 10,000 with no less than 10 restaurants open all year; an old town with 80% of buildings lived in by locals and just 15 Airbnbs; a living old town of 350 inhabitants, as well as a kindergarten servicing the 22 kids of the old town and surroundings; a colourfully vibrant and artistic culture, as well as exceptional heritage transitions from its rich mining history to the needs of modern life; a town where no less than 50% of kids are in a sports club; the best old people's home I have seen in Croatia (and yes, I have booked my spot); a town where tourism does not dominate, which makes it pleasant all year, especially with the Adriatic and 4 Blue Flag beaches just 3km away, accessible via one of the main nature trails.
