This was supposed to be a quick tune.
About a week ago, my friend John dropped off his 2018 Creality CR-10 so I could help dial it in. During what should have been a routine tuning session, I made one mistake — shorted a heater wire — and instantly fried the control board.
What followed wasn’t a simple repair.
Over the next week, that “quick tune” turned into a full teardown, rebuild, and accidental custom machine. New electronics, new configuration, and a lot of problem-solving, the CR-10 ended up performing better than either of us expected.
