📃 FULL RECIPE: Oil-Based Katmer (Catmurh) 📃
INGREDIENTS:
For the Dough:
4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
Approximately 1.5 cups Warm Water (Add gradually, checking consistency)
For the Oil Layering Mixture:
A little more than 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
A little less than 1/2 cup Flour
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Mix flour and salt, creating a well in the center. Gradually add warm water while kneading until the dough is very soft but stops sticking (about 4-5 minutes of kneading on the counter).
2. Place dough in a plastic bag and let rest for 30 minutes.
3. Divide the rested dough into 6 equal pieces and roll them into balls.
4. Cover dough balls and let rest again for 10 minutes.
5. Prepare the oil mixture by combining oil and flour until smooth.
6. Roll the first dough ball out to the size of a dinner plate. Brush generously with the oil layering mixture. (Continue folding/shaping process as shown in the video).
7. Cook on a hot pan until golden brown and flaky.
