Описание: Food noise is a state characterized by constant, intrusive, often annoying thoughts about food, eating, cravings, and control. Until recently, it was considered to be just anecdotal, but food noise has recently become the subject of scientific research. The formal definition states that food noise is intrusive, unwanted thoughts that cause negative emotions. They differ from normal thoughts in their intensity and their ability to overshadow other thoughts, and are similar in nature to rumination. Food noise can be caused by external factors (advertising, an environment rich in food products and eating cues) and internal factors (stress levels, sleep quantity and quality, hormonal influences). Scientists use the term "reactivity" to describe the combination of these factors. This reactivity—sensitivity to food noise—may decrease with the use of GLP-1 agonists, according to user reports. One interesting study found that high levels of normal background noise amplify the effects of food noise, making it more difficult to make decisions about food.
