First song from John Gay's masterpiece ‘The Beggar's Opera’ published in 1728 and it is sung by Paul Jesson as Peachum. This version is taken from the excellent 1992 Royal Shakespeare Company modern adaptation by John Caird and Ilona Sekacz. Pictures in this video are of the actual production at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, UK.
