The Curve G4T Wheels are build standard with Dt Swiss 350 hubs. We made this video to show you how easy it is to pull apart and reassemble a DT Swiss hub with their famous ratchet system. After Adam messed up his hub on Race to the Rock, he's now wise to which way the springs face so they can roll reliably.
The freehub body/cassette pulls off relatively easy by hand, exposing the ratchet mechanism and springs.
When reassembling the hub, it’s important to put the bits back in the right order and orientation.
There are 7 main pieces to the assembly.
Hub shell
Freehub body
Conical spring (x2)
Ratchet (x2)
Spacer
From left to right, assembly order is as follows:
Hub shell
Spacer
Spring (wide part towards the hub shell)
Ratchet x2 (serrations facing each other)
Spring (wide part towards the freehub)
Freehub body
Put the spacer on the axle
Insert one spring into the hub shell
Place the ratchets on top of the spring
Insert the second spring into the freehub
Place the freehub on the axle and slide the assembly together. You may have to apply a little bit of pressure and use a twisting motion for the ratchets to seat into position.
