"Leave The Judgment At The Door"
Words By: Jackson H. O'Quinn III
[Verse 1]
The morning sun is rising high above the silent fields,
But there is a heavy burden that a restless spirit yields.
To walk away from brothers and to leave the porch behind,
Is to carry around a shadow in a corner of the mind.
The world can be a weary place that offers only strife,
And anger is a bitter vine that chokes the tree of life.
It is easy to be hasty and let the temper start to grow,
But the bosom of a foolish man is where the embers glow.
[Chorus]
So lay the heavy burden down and let the spirit rest,
For JESUS says the laden are the ones that He has blessed.
The wrath of man can never work the righteousness of God,
So leave the anger in the dust and walk the path He trod.
There is a mercy waiting for the heart that is inclined,
To leave the judgment at the door and seek a love more kind.
[Verse 2]
It is easy to find fault within a neighbor or a friend,
To see the tiny speck of dust and hope their ways will mend.
But JESUS taught of beams within the eyes that hide the light,
And warns us not to confuse our anger with the right.
The measure that we give to others is the measure we receive,
It is a hard and lonely path for a soul that won't believe.
The door is always open and the table has a chair,
JESUS waits for every soul caught up in their despair.
[Bridge]
Be swift to hear and slow to speak and slow to let it burn,
For every bridge that has been burned is a lesson left to learn.
Repentance is a turning from the dark and toward the day,
Where the peace of JESUS washes all the pain away.
[Outro]
Come unto JESUS, tired souls, and find your quiet place,
There is a healing for the heart within His gift of grace.
The merciful, the peacemakers, shall see a brighter view,
When the love of JESUS takes the old and makes it new.

The following verses from the King James Version (KJV) address the topics of anger at the world and a judgmental spirit, pointing toward the peace and mercy found in Jesus Christ.
On Anger and Worldly Frustration
(Ecclesiastes 7:9) "Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools."
(James 1:19) "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:"
(James 1:20) "For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God."
(Matthew 5:22) "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
(Ephesians 4:26) "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:"
(Proverbs 15:1) "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."
On Being Judgmental
(Matthew 7:1) "Judge not, that ye be not judged."
(Matthew 7:2) "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
(Matthew 7:5) "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
(James 4:12) "There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?"
(James 2:13) "For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment."
(Romans 14:10) "But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."
The Way of Peace in Jesus Christ
(Matthew 11:28) "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
(John 14:27) "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
(Matthew 22:39) "And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
(Philippians 4:7) "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
If you are feeling the weight of the world's troubles, I invite you to turn to the Gospels and reflect on the life of Jesus, who offers grace and a new heart to all who call upon Him.
