Oil cleansing is a fantastic way to detox the skin. Today, I’m sharing a DIY oil cleansing balm recipe that contains ingredients that are easily available at home.

The key to getting soft, radiant skin with a cleansing balm is to apply it with dry hands onto dry skin. Unlike other cleansers, cleansing balms should first be applied dry. This is because the oils in the balm need to interact with the oil on your skin before adding water. Once water is added the surfactants release the surface tension on the skin, which then lifts and removes the makeup and allows it to rinse off.

Beewax: Beeswax hydrates, conditions, soothes, and calms the skin. It exfoliates, repairs damage, promotes the skin's regeneration, diminishes the appearance of the signs of ageing.

Fuller’s earth: Fuller’s earth has anti inflammatory properties as well it helps to calm skin all while absorbing dirt, oils and dead skin!

Olive oil: Olive oil is extremely helpful in healing skin and calming inflammation.

Vitamin E oil: It moisturises and soothes the dry, flaky skin.

Castor oil: Castor oil is a cleansing oil.

Tea tree essential oil: Tea tree essential oil has many benefits for the skin. It can help soothe dry skin by reducing itching and irritation.


Shelf life: You can store this cleansing balm for up-to 2 month at room temperature.

CAUTION - Before starting using any of the homemade products, conduct a patch test. If you have sensitive skin, apply the product at the back of your hand and wait for 24 hours. If you don't see any reaction, you can start the beauty regimen.
