Breville Barista Express | Cleaning & Descaling

Описание: Hands-down the most utilized appliance in our household (aside from maybe the refrigerator), this machine has seen a minimum 2 to 5 cycles every day since last Christmas - easy.

Whether cappuccino or hot tea, the Barista Express is built for the busiest domestic daily grind. In this video, we'll run through the recommended maintenance steps to keep our machines running in top form.

Power machine OFF and unplug before starting.

Unlock and detach bean hopper and vacuum the recessed burr grinder area clean.

Detach, disassemble and wash all accessories, including hopper, drip tray and reservoir in warm soapy water.

Clean the exterior of the machine with warm soapy water. Ours was absolutely (embarrassingly) filthy.

Remove filter from bottom of reservoir, dissolve one packet of descaling solution into 1 Liter of warm water and reattach.

Plug-in and power machine ON.

Press and hold 2-CUP and POWER buttons for a few seconds to activate Descaling mode.

The machine is ready for descaling when POWER / 1-CUP / CLEAN and DESCALE lights are on.

Cycle descaling water through each head group (main, hot water and steam wand heads) until the reservoir is empty, focusing on heavily-used heads as needed.

Rinse and refill reservoir with clean water and repeat to purge heads of residual descaling solution.

Power machine OFF to terminate Descaling mode.

Refill reservoir with clean, filtered water, power the machine ON and we're golden.

For about a month anyway. :)
