(4 Sep 2012) Several miners were injured after clashing with police in Bolivia's capital La Paz on Tuesday.
Miners from a state-owned company threw rocks at police who responded with tear gas cannisters as they tried to access a public square in front of the presidential offices.
Demonstrators detonated small explosives and threw rocks at the police during the clashes.
Miners from the Colquiri tin mine near La Paz, want President Evo Morales to take control of the mine and expel independent miners exploiting the site.
